Spirit is your persistent-effect budget

Spirit is a Path of Exile 2 resource used by many effects that stay active while you play. Instead of spending mana every time they are used, these effects reserve part of your available Spirit.

Common examples include auras, persistent buffs, permanent minions, and trigger-style meta gems. If your build wants several of these effects at once, Spirit becomes one of the most important planning constraints.

Why Spirit matters for builds

Spirit creates tradeoffs. A character with a small Spirit pool may be able to run one key buff, while a character with more Spirit can combine several effects or fit more minions.

The practical question is not just how much Spirit you have. The real question is whether your total Spirit supports the exact package of reservations you want to run after gear, supports, and build choices are included.

How this planner models Spirit

The PoE 2 Spirit Planner calculator uses a simple planning model: base Spirit plus flat Spirit from gear, multiplied by increased Spirit from gear, then reduced by active reservation costs.

This is meant for planning and comparison. Always recheck your character in game after a major patch, a gear swap, or any change that affects reservation cost.

FAQ

Is Spirit the same as mana?

No. Spirit is a separate reservation budget for persistent effects, while mana remains a resource used by many active skills.

What happens when I reserve too much Spirit?

If your planned reservations exceed your total Spirit, the setup is overreserved and needs more Spirit or fewer active reservations.
